Help with imprisonment - Page 2

You could also use a Protection from Magic scroll, which basicaly renders Kangaxx (both versions) about as harmless as a two year old child. Except two year old children can have a nasty bite.

Best though is Spell Immunity : Abjuration - cast that and no Abjuration spell can hurt you. Imprisonment included.

I tried the protection from magic scroll on my main character but he still got kinda immprisoned but just flickered in and out of the screen until I turned the game off. Do I have a bug?

I've never used a Protection from Magic, but I do know this:

1) Kangaxx "only" requires +4 weapons to hit, not +5. He is also immune to all spells in Levels 1-9, except those spells that create +4 weapons.

2) Cromwell, for some reason, requires 200 pounds of Illithium to coat an eight-pound Mace. If I ever write a MOD, the first thing I'll add is the brilliant idea of hacking off about 2 pounds of Illithium for Cromwell.

I know for a fact that Spell Trap works against Imprisonment, so I'm inclined to believe the 7th level priest spell Shield of the Archons would work as well. I haven't tried the 7th (or 8th, I can't remember which) spell Spell Deflection, but I think that would work as well.

Beware of dangerous mistake!
The scroll Protection from Magic DOES NOT prevent Kangaxx the demilich from casting its Imprisonment! I tried it once and was forced to reload. The Imprisonment seems to be some a kind of weapon or an innate ability which is NOT affected by the scroll! Also, let us note the frequency, which the Imprisonment is cast with. It is not 1 per round as it should be if it were a spell.

imprisonment (IIRC) ignores magic resistance, so the prot from magic scroll won't help you

Protection from Magic scrolls most assurely work, as it does not grant 100% magic resistance, but magic immunity.
