The other common movie codec is xvid, so the next time you get this problem odds are that is the one you are missing.

A great utility I have just opens and avi file and tells you the codecs it needs and whether you have them.

One last thing, if you were to have hit the ! next to the error in wmp it would have sent you to a link to the divx home page.

One realy, realy weird thing that has happened to me is that if I try to play a video file in Winamp 3 the image is sometimes UPSIDE DOWN! Does anyone know why? I dont use it any more because it takes ages to open but I was just wanderin out of curiosity...
