the place where you turn off the collars is the area just right of the room where you start in (with the big battle).

You need to have obtained the orb from the master of thralls to turn the collars off. if you have it, just click on the glowing pit and you free the slaves and can walk on those disgusting throbbing blobs.

Huh. Guess it's time to update Chapter 13.

My favorite trick in the Planar Prison is to kill the Warden right after the first fight. The Gnome tells you where he is, so like having my spellcasters stand as close as they can to the fleshtrap without getting sucked in, and start tossing Fireball or Cloudkill. A pissed-off Warden comes down, and happily steps on the string of Traps you laid. A Dispel Magic, and he's helpless. Whee!
