I have delivered the gem and the actors have been carted off to prison. The portal is open but every battle sees my defeat. Do I have to do this quest now or will the portal stay open?.

Now, or the portal will forever close, denying you one of the best items in the game. Which particular fight are you having trouble with?

Are you sure about this part? I've never come back to find I couldn't go to Prison ( :( ), but then I've never waited beforehand, either. If it's true, I should make a note of it in my Guide....

the first fight killed me but i wasnt prepeared. it might be a lil bit easier next time.why cant you take summoned creatures thru the portals and up/down steps?whats that 'incredible' item?

As for fighting tips, Stoneskin your Mages first and buff up on all your protection spells, especially Resistance to Fire.

When you enter the portal, quickly summon something near the Yuan-Ti Mage on the left to bear the brunt of his attacks. Concentrate on the right, and leave a Stoneskinned Mage behind to take the backstab from the Thief which will bounce off the Stoneskin.

Move back one tank to handle the Thief while your spellcasters keep on summoning summons to help on the right side of the battle. If the summon on the left dies, summon another one to replace it.

yeh but whts the incredible item. n u shud have wrote spoiler cuz now i know how to easily beat them oh well, its there funeral.

hmmn ive got the boots of speed they rock now my main problem is getting to kill the warden, i saved it in a bad place but 4 example say i was at the place where i just killed the wyvern, how do i get to the place where i turn off the collars without confronting the warden?oh yeh this may be a spoiler so if ur not stuck dont luck i mean look.
