Am I the only one who finds this disturbing and immoral, using massive bombs in residential areas?

Why couldnt they send one of those massive armor coloumns over to take them out personally and have definite proof of termination.
Oh come on Chewbacca. The whole thing is immoral. War, Husseins government. Everything. It's Babylon after all. Why is Hussein hiding in residential areas? Why is Hussein free from blame if Iraqis die? How is a hostage taker free from blame if the sniper shoots a hostage while taking down the hostage taker?? There's fault on ALL sides. But most of all Husseins.

1.Why has Huseein abused the people he is meant to protect?
2.Why didn't Hussein avoid the death of his people and take the exile option?
3.Why has Hussein hidden targets amidst large populations?

Yes it's disturbing and immoral, but who in this whole f**king mess is innocent? War is a HUMAN problem. It takes at least two to tango.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who find's it disturbing and immoral. You wouldn't have to guess that I find war in particular disturbing and immoral.

Perhaps I am one of the few incapable of celebrating war victory like a football game. The dead and those that mourn them are very real and I find that killing is most unworthy of celebration, no matter how "free" some people become of it. Bombing neighborhoods is something that should be spoken out against in particular and is most unworthy of celebration.

Oh, and the children in this whole f***ing mess are innocent, though even they can be taught how and who to hate. If it's a numbers game then I just hope we liberate more children than those who's dad we kill in this war.

Would they???
No - but if it was Karachi (or a similar place)???? who knows?

I think it would be more likely to send in the troops in such a case - the US would like to get OBL alive.

Still it isn't as easy just to send in the troops in an hostile terrirory as Baghdad still is. The Coalition forces still only control a small proportion of the city.

2 British papers (un-named in the report I just heard) are reporting that Saddam and his sons escaped just minutes before the bombs landed.

I have heard the British also reported that Chemical Ali may have actually survived/escaped the bombing of his home on Basra...a real-live Freddy Kreuger from some accounts LOL.

EDIT: Well Finally and LMAO at the same time, I found a link to at least one of the British reports...the British reporter on the scene firt to debunk the strike...none other than Peter Arnett.

*snort*

"Nevermind!"

Still, though, the U.S. cannot confirm his death and they'll literally have to produce his head on a stick to convince a lot of people. Good Luck finding it in that pile of bricks & dust guys.

Sources: Saddam was in targeted building

http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/World/20.../61213-ap.html

U.S. intelligence had solid information from multiple sources that Iraqi President Saddam Hussein went inside a building and didn't leave before it was struck by an American bomber Monday, U.S. officials said.

One intelligence source was believed to be an eyewitness who watched him go inside. No one would discuss the identity or characterize the credibility of the witness.

Intelligence officials, who spoke Wednesday on the condition of anonymity, stopped well short of declaring Saddam dead. They described the information as encouraging, but not conclusive.

"We may have got him. We just don't know. It's clear that nobody's in charge, that nobody's getting any direction," said one official. "He's gone way underground, literally or figuratively."

To me the real picture of war was the 12 yr old boy whos mother father and sister and brother were killed when a missle hit his home ..He survived...but now he has no arms!!He says when he gets out of the hospital he may kill himself instead of living with no family and no arms!Thats the horror of war and when I hear people say what a wonderfull thing George is doing for the Iraqi people I get sick! First of all he ain't doing a damn thing it's the 19 yr old Marines who are doing all the work, and god help them if their injured cause ol George cut the Veterans budget 28 billion dollars! How that for a thanks guys! And thank you Jeb for getting me my job!
