YES! I saw that! I thought the last one out of the flames was going to get his dress or whatever you call what he was wearing, caught on fire. My wife even found humor with it!

My take on the Iraqi search methods is that there will be a whole lot less 7.62x39 rounds to send down range at US and British Soldiers come time to take Baghdad. In fact, I think they need to do some more searching along the river banks!
The only thing I could think of then I saw that was the old expression "Running like his feet where on fire and his Ass was catch'n"
Maybe we have some of those rubber paratroopers we used on D-Day left in an old Military warehouse somewhere? We could drop a couple of them into the river after each air raid and let then practice their search and rescue methods.

Geneva Convention anyone.
Iraq never signed it.

Really? I honestly didn't know that.

I did see the generals and government officials say they would abide by the Geneva Convention regarding POWs though.

Everyone just calm down with the accusations and counter accusations. Marky (and the rest of you), if you really feel that someone has broken the ToS, use the "Report Post" button. Don't start a public slanging match.

Some of the childishness and less than subtle flamebaiting I've seen recently only serves to cheapen serious debate.

Please get back on topic.

MarcyMark, calling them "brainchildren" had to do with the fact that they threw gasoline on smoldering brush. Not a smart move if you are Iraqi, Coalition, or even if you are a mod.....lol.

Don't start me on whether or not it's racist, but the short answer is, no it was not.

You see smoldering brush indicates a near flame situation, and gasoline is highly flamable. It can even be explosively so.

Back on topic, you don't capture a POW by shooting him or setting him on fire.
