A thesaurus is something like a dictionary, but not quite: When you look up a word, instead of listing the word's definition (as a dictionary does), a thesaurus lists several synonyms of the word you're looking for, as well as many related words. It's often useful when you don't want to use commonplace, frequently used words in too ubiquitous a manner.

I have lots of self respect...I just don't like swear words. Also, you have to take into account that this is board opened to all..including kids...

There are several ways of getting your point across, one of which is using !!!!! or the emoticons , etc...

the only kids i know that don't use swear words are the ones that can't read, write or watch television, let alone use a message board.

@Mrxian: The problem is that you are dutch (like myself) and most people on this board tend to be from USA/Australia etc. I have noticed that swear words are far more commonly accepted in Europe, especially The Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and France than in other parts of the worlds. I personally use them alot in daily live and have no problem with them, that's just the way I grew up, like you probably did also. BUT... this message board should be considered as a "house" Ziroc's house and you are most welcome but you have to apply to his rules. One of which is not using swear words. Otherwise you ain't welcome anymore. That's how I see it and since I like it here I just adapt myself by not using swear words and that ain't a problem for me, I can do without them.
