Hmm....my Edwin bug was different: He never got in touch with his feminine side at all. And a pure-class Mage is the LAST person I'd put Boots of Speed on, but I guess a little hit&run spellcasting would be fun, now that you mention it.
On a (somewhat) related note, In my Evil game I noticed that Edwin was unable to wear the Gloves of Healing. Viconia couldn't wear them either. But my PC, a Neutral Evil Cleric/Mage, COULD! What gives?

First, make sure he has nothing on which will grant free action. This means Rings, Cloak, Robe, Helm, Weapon, spell, or potion... the way to test is to look at his portrait... if he has free action from any of those, it will display a little white symbol which looks like an "is aproximately equal to" sign.
Also, see if he has anything else which will grant haste. The wy to test is to remove the boots of speed, and check his portrait for a little boot with wings. If neither of these are present, its probably a bug. Try Baldurdash for a patch. And, |

LOL, I've been here for a wee little while allready Lennon,
but thx anywayz Extremist's post sounded very familiar, so i think that's the problem, I've allready experimented all options in game ( removing all items except boots of speed, reload etc. ) So I'll just search baldurdash again for the patch gothmog mentioned Thx for all the help

For god's sake, you don't have to be in touch with Edwin's femine side to get that bug.
The very moment you are transported to Hell, the game automatically and without question applies sexchange effect on Edwin to make him male again, just to be sure he is again male in case you haven't finished the Nether quest. You can't avoid this. And it is the source of your problem. Trust me. If you can't trust me, get IEexplorer and check your saved game - spot the SEXCHANGE in Edwin's permanently applied effects after the Hell. Remove it manually. I've also told you that Baldurdash's fix is not working in ToB due to strange ToB issue about all this where sexchange effect in ToB became "stackable". But that's the story for modders, just do it as I already posted. Hex editor or NI. SK if you want to risk to get messed game. [ 04-25-2002, 04:23 PM: Message edited by: Extremist ] |

Then you are probably changed to drow looks. It makes NPCs stutter.
That problem should vanish when you leave the Underdark (in fact, when drow looks is gone). But this won't help you to avoid this bug I'm talking about when you enter Hell! |
