All you need to know is:

It one of the best games of all time, on any platform. At least it is if your not addicted to fast action and care about the plot.

If you do plan on getting it it would be best to get the original first, some things will make more sense and you can get a slightly easier start in BG2, but its not essential to do so.

Other similar games are Planescape:Torment, which is much much darker and has a stronger empasis on characterisation than combat.

Thers also Icewind Dale which has less caracterisation and more action, but is (apparently, ive never played it myself) slightly inferior to BG and PS:T mentioned above.

Those ones are from Bioware who are exceptionaly good at this sort of game, there are many others that are equaly worthy of praise.

Its the worst drug on the planet, it keeps you awake til 3am knowing that you have to get up at 7am to go to work.

It makes your eyes hurt and your brain ache but worst of all, hurts your hands and wallet when you have to smash your mouse because the damn Lich just will not die

DIE YOU SCUM BAG, FOR GODS SAKE BLOODY DIE!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, someone on the site who does not know about BGII? That's wierd. I bought the game then found the sites to go on! Well, I suppose the other way does it just fine!

I can't really explain what it is Luigi17, because it is so hard to describe! But it is so indepth, and you can play it twice through and have nearly completely different storylines! Then, there are even sub-variations and even sub-variations withing sub-variations that result in hundreds of hours of gameplay!

Sorry if I went a little over the top!
I have a tendency to help too much!!!

Oh. And it certainly looks like Black_Knight is your friend and I assume he has a copy of Baldur's Gate II, so you could go round to his place and play on it, or borrow his copy.

Oh, and if my assumptions are wrong, then I'm sorry for prying into your personal life!
I have a tendency to do that too!!!

Don't worry about it...

it's just that it has caused great confusion and debate in the General Disscussion board, and it's become secouned nature to point it out to otheres.
