The name says it all. a young mage whos a greater mage then Fistandantilus or any god or godess. Raistlin could beat Elminster anyday. you've got a good taste ABDELS.

Raistlin certainly does rock with attitude. He looks pretty menacing to boot. I guess my choice would be Raistlin for the dark side and Gandalf the White for the light. For humour, who remembers the wacky wizard from Conan the Barbarian. Talk about attitude.

Fave mage?
- Gotta be Jan Jansen, oh sure he isnt as powerfull as Gorion, Elminster, Gandalf or Raistlin (BTW i am currently in the process of working on an unofficial DL adventure for TOB which will include Caremon, Raistlin, Tass and all yer fave's as NPC's.. IF i ever get the time to finish it....which is doubtfull for a while) but Jan is so much more FUN than those self-important wizzies. |

However, Raistlin DID defeat her on her home plane solo....pretty impressive. Still..if you are TRUE Dragonlance fan....then I would choose Raistlin's nephew. In one of the follow-up series, Caramon's son decides to become a mage (much to his father's disapproval). Fortunately,he chooses to be a white mage. He goes to Raistlin's tower for his test and passes with flying colors. Then, Raistlin calms Caramon's fears by saying that his son will become FAR more powerful than his uncle...so you've got a good mage that will be stronger than Raistlin - sounds like a winner to me. BTW, it's been too long since I read the books, so I don't remember the boys name. [ 03-27-2002, 10:38 AM: Message edited by: Cerek the Barbaric ]

I believe his name was Pallin(sp). Although I don't see how he could become the most powerful mage in the land. Weis & Hickman killed the series with Dragons of Summer Flame. At the end of the book, the gods left Krynn, magic didn't work anymore, and there was only one moon. I quit reading Dragonlance books at that point, so no idea what's happened to the story since then.
And Raistlin did kill most of the gods I think, at least, it was inferred that he did. The Toe |

I've yet to see the magic-user that could best Tim the Enchanter. He's got a great-lookin' skullcap, he knows all about the Killer Rabbits in the area (and their deadly Vorpal Squeaks), and even though he's an Enchanter, he can still cast those cool Invocation spells like Fireball Self and Magic Rocket!

I'd agree with other people here.....i'd choose Elminster....not only is he a great spellcaster (gotta luv that red robe!)....if he was in my party, i would eventually kill him for all that crap he gave me in BG1!
