Woo I just beaten the game and I must say.

I hate the ending. It leaves you off at a bloody cliff hanger.

As I said... definitely going to be a "part 2" or add-on or something like that.

The game WAS a bit short, but replayability is pretty good for a shooter, the driving parts are a ton of fun just goofing around in, and the end section in the combine main structure or whatever is a blast.

IMO there were plenty of weapons (I prefer a few good ones to a ton of them), and alt-fire helps.

It is pretty easy on all but the highest difficulty, but my first time through I liked that... it kept game flow up and gave me the feeling that I was playing/watching an interactive movie.

Depends on your definition of slower systems, though, but even then I beg to differ with you. Half-Life 2 has state of the art graphics (although I'm not THAT impressed, but that might be because I haven't seen it at full force yet), and a killer game engine. A friend of mine has a really decent computer (Doom 3 ran perfect on it) but Half-Life 2 has its glitches every now and then.

Generally speaking, the game could've been a lot better. The lack of multiplayer is not a devestating thing (and in a sense the Source version of Counter Strike helps) but still it's a shame they didn't implement a multiplayer version.
The AI on moderate level SUCKS, and not just that, it SUCKS bigtime. The combine soldiers are easy as hell, shooting a salvo of bullets before taking cover. Only when they're hit they will run away, take cover for like a second or two and then return to open sight where you can shoot them again. And they must have a malfunctioning mask (all of them) because their sense of aim is just awful. Unless there is a good explanation for this story-wise, this, in my eyes, is a pretty big issue.

These points put aside though, Half-Life 2 has been hyped a tad bit too much, still making it a really good game (and worth buying) but IMHO it could and should have been better.

I only wished they had more aliens. Like those electric guys in the first game. I loved blowing those away. And next time it is higher difficulty.
