Horrigan is a piece of cake. I rather face TWO Horrigans than 6 Fire Geckos. Damn Fire Geckos... it's the only random encounter I don't bother to fight.

Unless I am soloing. Keeping a party healthy can be a nightmare against Fire Geckos.

Remember... Horrigan can be stunned.

You have to had the right perks, skills and traits. Some are useful in combat situation where others aren't. Anyway, I had to level up until level 24 to get the "sniper" perk before going over to Enclave.

For ranged fighters, perks like Bonus rate of fire, Bonus range damage, sharpshooter and sniper perks does a lot to increase your chance to score critical hit, especially targeted shots to the eye or head. Plus, living atonomy, more cirticals and better criticals are quite good to have too.

For ranged fighters, stats like Luck, perception and agility is quite important. Since I prefer to play as range fighter, I always have my PE and AG at 9 while 7 for LK. FYI, LK can be increased by 2 points later in the game by special means (not using perks).
