Lies! I just found a pair of glass boots and they only give 11 AC! Maybe all together they would be 100, but one good piece of heavy armor is 100. That is the point I was trying to make.

It's in the chest for which you need a locksplitter scroll early in the game.

your eyes is deceiving you Roland. Except for Glass Tower Shield which got AC of 110. The rest of Glass armor got AC of 100 each.

I found them on Hlaalu Vault in Vivec City.

But still none can challenge Daedric Armor. each daedric armor got like 270 AC each.

I meant that it was a lie that glass was so good. I have a dummy with a full set of glass on him.

No, I`m afraid it is you Kakero.. unless you`re talking about some kind of 'special' glass armor. Like I said I have a dummy with a full set of glass on him. I stripped my Nord down and put the glass on him and the armor rating was only 11. The all glass armor pieces give 11 armor. I have only have a regular glass shield (which gives an armor of 11) but I doubt the tower shield is much better.

AC is determined by your skill: if your light armor is low, the AC you get from glass is low as well. Raise it and you will see that you can get a total of about 200 AC rating for a full suit. Still much lower than the 360 you can get with daedric suit, but really good nonetheless.
The same with all armor skills: the helm of orc7yn bearclaw gives my char only 15 ac, but we all agree it's the best non-modded heavy helm around Vvardenfell

I hope this sets the issue between kakero and roland: the first has good light armor skill, the second is unable to use it properly.

Back to the main topic: I prefer light armor (and I have tried chars with both heavy and light armor proficiencies) because of the encumbrance and the speed. After all you don't need that much protection at high levels, everything dies very quickly.
Just one disappointment: there are only one pair of glass bracers and pauldrons in the game, which makes it impossible to properly dress my two glass armored mannequins.

oh no wonder, so the AC is determeined by your armor skill. thanks for clearing that up B_part.

It's good to see that we reach a conclusion. I like heavy armor too. Maybe I'll try heavy/light together

In ad&d, a thief who wears full plate is absurd. Because he's a sneak character. he's silent. but in morowind you can sneak with heavy armor it's really strange IMO.
