Actually, I'd been looking forward to creating a Wizard Slayer character to solo through SoA. I figure that early in game I could give him ++ in short bow and use the Tuigan bow (for 3 shots per round), Lilarcor, Sling of Everard, and the Flail of Ages. The MR and the casting disruption should tip the balance in my favor.

I am a new player, so correct me if I am wrong. Does a long bow not add strength damage bonuses whereas a short bow does not?

Hmmmm......not sure if Wizard Slayers can use magical helms & shields or not. Even so, that means no Ring of Gaxx, no Necklace of Missiles, no Boots of Speed, no Strength Girdles, no Amulet of Seldarine.....

Their Magic Resistance IS nice, yes. But you hardly ever really need it, provided you've got the right Saving Throw equipment and use your brain to avoid being Imprisoned. Besides, Priests can raise your MR for you (or is that a Wizard spell? I forget), and you can get it as a High-Level-Ability in ToB.

Spell Disruption? Pffft. Use the Flail of Ages or the Dragon's Breath Halberd--the physical attack is blocked, sure, but the elemental damage still gets through. Spell Failed--Casting Failure. Ah, but they've got Protection from Magic Weapons on. So? What are your Mages doing, twiddling their thumbs?

You want immunity to magic? Try a high-level Paladin (All Saving Throws are well into the negative range) with the Cloak of Mirroring. You can just stand there while an army of Liches exhausts their spells, and then start giggling as you reach for your sword.....
