I dont think so..
I just started CHapter 2, have gotten the quest from Lord JIerdan, rep something like 12 or 13, Lawful Good Allignment, And at the tope of all those page where it says what class you are, it just says 'Cavalier'.
So would this mean that LArlochs Minor drain is a standard BHaal Sporn Ability?? because i definately had it with my neutral good, and true neutral characters as well... unless its an bility evil characters DONT have...
(or possibly its one of the ones i shadow keepered in... but no i think i shadow keepered it OUT because i never use it, and i want to only have the spells i use in there.... odd.)
BTW- I know i had it when i left Irenicus's dungeon, im not sue if this was before or after me using shadow keeper for spells though....

*GASPS* Shadow keeper is evil! I think it is class specific for some because i thnk i may have had Larloch's Minor Drainor, i meen just because its necromancy doesnt meen its evil, can't it heal the protagonist? If so then it is like a weak version of Lay On Hands.

Bhaalspawn powers are alignment specific.

When I created my Paladins, they both had 2 Cure Light Wounds, 2 Draw Upon Holy Might, and 2 Slow Poison.

As a general rule of thumb, Good characters get 6 blue spells, Neutrals get 3 blue spells and 3 red spells, Evil characters get 6 red spells.

I've seen a list/chart that describes the bhaal powers and I do remember that is tied to alignment in some fashion. But I am not sure it is as cut and dried as simply good / neutral / evil ... STILL, A cavalier should be lawful good and I don't see a necromantic spell fitting in THAT alignment .... might just be a creation glitch. I don't recall my undead slayer having it and he was lawful good.

It does make sense for a neutral character (LN, N or CN) to have that spell though.

I do not have the exact chart with me now, but at least we can both confirm each other's report.

Then why did my neutral good cavalier get a red spell?? This could not be right- it is not purely allinment specific- it cant be, it must have something to do with class and race aswell, or i wouldnt have larlochs minor drain!
And MIcah Foehammer- larlochs minor drain does not heal the character who casts it... vampiric touch does that. If only we could find something that tells us exactly what spells u get in which situations... it would clear this up alot...

Isn't cavalier a paladin class. How then did you get a neutral good cavalier ? He should be lawfull good as a paladin can't pick any other alignment.
The bhaalpowers are alignment specific. Why your cavalier gets Larloch's is beyond me but i can't figure out why he is neutral good aswell. The only thing that might be is that it's an imported character from BG1.
Larlochs minor drain does heal the character. It deals damage to an opponent and transfers that to the caster. Read the spell discription.

Sookma Cook... you are contradicting yourself.

First, you said, and I quote from you,

quote:
I just started CHapter 2, have gotten the quest from Lord JIerdan, rep something like 12 or 13, Lawful Good Allignment, And at the tope of all those page where it says what class you are, it just says 'Cavalier'.

Then, in your next post, you said,

quote:
Then why did my neutral good cavalier get a red spell??

If you going to use Shadowkeeper to do non-legimate things, then do not expect your game to be the same as ours... ...

Dundee is correct and also many others. I also play Cavalier and ONLY alignment I could choose was 'Lawful Good', and that gave me 6 "blue" abilities: 2 Cure Light Wounds, 2 Draw Holy Might and 2 Slow Poison. That's about the Bhaal abilities (pathetic ones at that, well save the Draw Holy Might, that's handy).

Then I have about gazillion Detect Evil and half-gazillion Protect From Evil.. Why oh why..
