Toxic cloud is in the Alchemy spellbook though.

I always liked the mage as well. The beginning of the game will be so much easier with a mage, while you have to work hard with the bishop. I also think that the beginning of the game and a little into the middle of the game is the most difficult part of the game, and mage will shine.

In the DS mod all spells are available to the Mage that's the good part. If Alchemy is above Wizardry then Alchemy will be built, but because all spells are part of wizardry realm if it is highest then only wizardry will be built. I did have a problem having enough spell points for the mage.

I prefer to start with a mage. After 6-8 levels I switch him to bishop. It's the same way I played this profession in the basic W8. In the beginning you learn fast and later you can use the spellbooks. I don't think, the loss of the wiz-bonus is a severe problem.

IMO it's the best way.
