I give my Bishops a Mage level to Knock-Knock Wizardry up once Alchemy is over 90. (i don't develop Wiz at all until that point, usually L7 or 8, and i save up one extra level so they can go right back to Bishop) They can cast K-K even if their Wiz is only whatever you start with, and if you got a Brilliant Helm it goes up incredibly fast.

Yes, remove curse is definitely level dependant. My faerie ninja got the weapon-that-should-not-be quite early, and I wasn't able to uncurse it until very quite a bit later when my bishops had some more levels...

Cheers

Hi Ghoul,

that is interesting to me because I'm currently running a party of 6 with no magic-users . I have a bishop only for alchemy ( no casts, only for mixing potions ) and for remove curse . Please tell me : What highlevel weapons or armor you can't remove with the bishops ability ?
BTW, can anyone tell me how good is the turn undead ability of the bishop later? In all of my games I only used it at the beginning in Arnika.I never tried it later because it seems to me that it wasn't that good and in my parties with magicians there was no need for it.

Thanks

Edited : Because I found this nice guy this morning, looks a little bit like me !

The item he's likely talking about is the cane of corpus. You can usually get one if you kill the Rattkin Don who steals the Astral Dominae from the Dark Savant.

The cane does a very high amount of damage, has a 50% of paralysis and a 100% chance of a strong poison attack. However it can only be used by a faerie ninja, nobody else. It's also cursed so you can't swap weapons without uncursing first. Not exactly much of a penalty since by the time you get the cane you'll be able to cast spells although you won't be able to use the ninja's ranged critical ability.

As for the bishop's turn undead skill. I've never found it to be particularly strong and generally just does a bit of damage to nearby undead. I don't always use it though and undead aren't that prolific.

hi loudhy - i believe the turn undead ability is equivalent to a low level banish spell, without the benefit of powercast skill. so, early in the game it can be quite powerful, but later in the game the monster resistances will gimp it easily. better to rely on the banish spell (priest/mage).

Yah, it's kinda like Dracon Breath...i think the only time i've used it recently was on some heads in LM when i was around L4...you don't even build Skill points anywhere when you use it, and it doesn't improve with level.

quote from loudhy some days ago - just read it today and appanrently no one answered

"What highlevel weapons or armor you can't remove with the bishops ability ?"

In my experience, bishops can uncurse everything by level 20 (of course many items sooner - arnika's blood sword for example is lvl 5)

But you need lvl 20 at least for the mafia killing weapon, the staff from the grotto behind the water and the diseasing axe.

@Loudhy:
Sorry for not answering sooner, but I think it actually was the cane of corpus as mentioned above (but im not 100% shure).
