I agree completely with the general consensus. When I spend 50 bucks on a game, I want to know that I will get my 50 bucks out of the game. That includes in-depth story and character development, not a "this is the only way to play this class" junk like there is in a lot of other games. More than anything for me, though, I need to want to play it again at least once to try out different class and party configurations. As long as the graphics are serviceable, they are fine for me.

Hey, to be honest, that doesn't just apply to rpgs for me, but to all games. Yes, I want the graphics to look good, but in any and all games my main focus is the playability of the game. It can have the most amazing graphics in the world, but if it's not fun, then it sucks, period. Graphics is window dressing....in an action or rts style game you need them to be good, but especially in strategy or rpgs, what you really need is good AI and a good game.
