Haer Dalis as a secondary mage?

Ive only got a Single specialist mage backed up by an Avenger. Its enough for me though as it means that ive got room for a Fighter, a Swashbuckler and a Archer. I dont know though how im gonna get on on the harder fights with this combo but its serving me well enough at this moment- im in the umar hills.

I've already done the quest to free Haer'Dalis. I only have a few quests left in chapter 2, but I do plan on hitting a few levels of Watchers Keep before going to chapter 3.

If Haer'Dalis can get to level 6 spells I guess its worth the switch. I don't think I'll miss the cleric spells with Anomen and Jaheira in the group... and Aerie won't get level 7 spells in time.

I'd prefer to have both Imoen and Nalia, than Imoen and Aerie. As for Edwin, I believe in role playing and don't think he'd fit in with a good group. I do plan on trying him out with a neutral/evil party at some point.

1. If you picked up Nalia right at the start, she'll have 1 or 2 more levels than Imoen.

2. Nalia has a 14 STR as compared to Imoen's 9 STR. While I'm hardly thinking of having Nalia charging into a Melee, that difference in STR is noticable when it comes to loading up Imoen's and/or Nalia's inventory. Yes, you can get either a STR enhancing item, but until you have quite a few of them, giving a mage a belt of ***** strength is a very low priority compared to giving it to a (potential) tank, like Jahiera or Mazzy or Viconia.


Personally, since I play good parties, I like to have both Nalia and Imoen in my parties.

If you're role playing good, Edwin doesn't make any sense. Nalia is a pretty good archer and I always give her Gesen's bow. She has a better THACO than Imoen, prob. because of her (always) higher level.But both of them are the girls for me.I always kill Edwin when he's rude to Minsc. [img]smile.gif[/img]
