Hey all, thanks for the replies - I must say, regardless of how this party turns out, the game and experience with the other gamers so far here has been amazing!

Well I have had my Bard inspecting the chests in the Monestary as much as possible to raise her open locks (she'd do it until she set off the trap, got her skill to a 39 I think, it was at like 4:00 AM last night so it's all fuzzy now So I'm going to be able to focus more on putting her level points now into pickpocketing - speed was something I was going to raise after 2 other stats, but with your info I may get to it sooner now and devote any speed raising magic items to her to help her out here. How important is the communication skill? Does it go up pretty well on its own or should I pump it a little now that lock picking is ok for a while?

I'll try not to overdo it with the Samurai magic-wise (actually so far haven't given any of his skill points to magic skills) - was going to start gradually building him up in either fire/water or fire/air schools after say level 5/6 (my party got to level 4/5 from 1 yesterday), but still devote some points to sword/dual/crits.

So far the most challenging thing is the bishop's lack of skill in the different spell spheres and her saying "Dammit!" alot when her spells fail (and sometimes backfire on the party) - but she's slowly getting there and it's actually kind of comical

Am thinking of getting my Ranger started too with spells, would like him to at least know heal wounds soon, but not to go too crazy with him. But I am having a blast with these guys so far. And yeah, it's a matter of style in terms of wanting a fighter or not - for me, I don't like the monk/ninja classes because they can't use all the items in the game and I think it's fun to try out lots of different types of armor/weaponry, makes all the work it takes to find it that much more rewarding instead of just selling the stuff off - but again, this is entirely subjective.

Thanks again,

Gimli

Oh BTW, I changed what my party was going to be a little when I made it from when I first posted, only differences were I made the Felpurr Samurai male and the Bishop and Elven female...
