We should all just do what we can on this topic, an idea here, a picture there, until someone has the time to run with it, or perhaps even someones...
I agree with this, and a team game would be great. The problem with teams is that most people have their own ideas and themes and want to do their own thing, but if more than one person wants to do something similar, as in this situation, then a team makes perfect sense, and things would get done a lot quicker.

I'm going to do some more icons and possibly try a few small pics and walls etc. My only problem is that I have a limit of 50 files on freewebs and that is almost met already. I think I'll have to zip up everything that I already did and offer them for download that way.

If you have ftp capabilities, you can upload work to CocoaSpuds site. If you're interested, pm me and I'll give you morre info (like the passwords and such).
He has made quite a bit of space available for DC art and related files.

Not only that, but as with the DL of icons for the I-works site; DLing only one at a time is kinda tedious. You SHOULD group them together, as its far simpler to DL groups than 1 at a time.

As for group ideas, they have all the time constraints of everyone in the group and they take on other (planning and writing, to name a couple) problems as well... but it just might be the easiest way to get thru writers block and the sheer size overwhelm of making larger mods. So I'm kinda neutral to the idea... I dunno... But if we had some groups or individuals who actually put out some mods it would be awesome!!!

Our current selection of finished mods is kinda low, and it would be easier to rally ppl to the DC cause if there were more.

PS I'm not sayin I'm not "down" for a group mod, if the previous sounded negative... So perhaps I'll message some ppl about it...

Here's an idea for zipping files that would work for icons at least. You would gather 10 or 15 files put them in a zip, and create a graphic file that would be a combo of all the icons. So, 10 or 15 files becomes 2. I've got wi-fi, so I don't mind dling a lot of files.

The group thing...I know more about it than most. I'm heading up the DC collaboration project. Everyone involved is awesome, but not in a hurry to get things done. And I don't just mean creating files/graphics/etc. If I try to come to a decision on something, At best I've been able to get half the people to respond, and not always in a timely matter. But, with that said, the group started with the idea that it would be fun to do a group project, so formed a group and then decided the project. If you decided the project first, and then took volunteers, it could be a lot smoother. And, I do mean a lot. (I try to run the collaboration by a group concensus... Ya. There are easier ways to do things.)

About the zips...yeah, I've kinda done that Manikus, though the combo only has a selection of the icons, so people have an idea about what to expect. I've zipped them up now, so it's down to four files (PC's, Monsters, Cthulhu and walls).

Abou team projects. I know what everyone means. I've been the head of my own mud on the internet for the past 10 years and trying to motivate people working on it, is one of the most difficult things for anyone to do. I still think a team mod would be interesting to do though.
