Hahahaha yea, those big ungerground worms with moderate intelligence that go around eating people in a small town. Classic cinima. I have to say, I thought his third book in the series was a bit of a let down after the first two, thats just my opinion though.

And I thought the first one is called Northern Lights? Or is taht just in the UK?

The First one is called the Northern Lights, I think (Like the first Harry Potter book) they changed the name in America to try to make it more appealing.

I don't really understand the change, both titles make sense, but they should have stuck with whatever they came up with first.
