I am about halfway through and a tad dissapointed so far, perhaps its just because certain fave characters have not been mentioned since the last book.

GRRM mentioned on his site that to even get AFFC out this year, he had to cut certain viewpoints out. Hopefully that means the next book, A Dance of Dragons, will have a good headstart to being finished.

This book was focused mainly on Kings Landing and the Lannisters with some focus on the Greyjoys (YAY) and Dorne, ADOD will apparently be more focused on Starks.

Yea... the way it sounded to me is that he split the next book into two parts, released the Lannister part first and the Starks next time... of course that leaves me wondering when Daenerys is going to show up with her army.

I have a Feast for Crows too - and its signed by the man himself. . He was doing a signing spree over England, from what I hear, and I attended the local bookstore signing.

That's odd - every book store has them out from and at competitive sale prices - yay - there is something that we were close to first at for a change

Yes, it's out in November here. I'm not so bummed -- I play the board game with buddies pretty often, so we're happy to make up the next book.

GRRM explains on his website that in order to get the book down to a publishable size, he had to cut it in half. The book out now (or, erm, soon) will focus on Westeros. The second half will focus on the North and lands across the Narrow Sea.

He made me hate Jamie, then like Jamie. Let's see if he can do it with Cersei.

Getting mine tomorrow. Bit disappointed that some characters aren't there - when will he finish ADOD then?
