The song from ep. 5 is called Greenbird. I agree, it is easily my favorite anime. It is also best watched in order, by the 5th episode most are hooked.

The bebop movie (Knockin' on Heaven's Door) is also excellent, though hasnt been released in the US yet.

Did Faye love Spike? Was her home town Singapore? and What happened Between Vicious, Spike and Juila(SP)? Just some questions I have about the series.

It must be a very popular soundtrack, because all the local stores I've looked in are always sold out soon after getting it in stock.

Cowboy Bebop is the story of 5 bounty hunters. it starts with jet and Spike who are more or less opposites. spike is running from a mafia like group and jet is an ex cop. later 3 other people(actually 2 people and a dog) join the bebop's(jet spaceship) crew
the first is Ein a dog, there's more about him but i don't want to spoil
then Faye Valentine, a female gambler/bounty hunter several other things, she's pretty self centered
and finally my favorite character of any anime ever, Edward a redheaded 12 year old girl who's a hacking prodigy who's to put it mildly eccentric
the story has a habit of telling you about the characters and relating it to thier present. it's incredibly well done almost every episode is great and every episode is good. there are some filler episodes but they often are very good, and you usually give you some insights to the character

Do you have to watch the whole series to understand the movie?

i've seen the movie, it's pretty good. like a good episode stretched to an hour an a half. I've been trying to figure out if the move takes place during or after the series but have only seen it once so i don't know. You definitely do not need to see the whole series to get it though.
