Enhancement bonuses apply to both attack and damage. So a +12 enhanced dagger would be +12/+12, where as a +12 to attack is +12/+str bonus for dmg.

Thank you robertthebard for that one.

If I understand it, that would mean that if any weapon has a higher enhancement than attack bonus then the attack bonus can be ignored.

My brain is beginning to hurt. I'll have to go back to swords and maces. I like them. Bigger bonuses mean bigger hits. Fighter with big bonus hits, enemy dies. I can deal with that.

I grabbed all three that wear mentioned and melt was by far and above the best of the group.

On a side not, I cast keen edge on my Xanther Blade+8 about 5 days ago, and it seems to be a permanent Keen now. I examined the blade, and it lists Keen (Temporary) in blue, but I think it's now permanent.

Okay... I need to go get myself a copy of Melt, and how do I go about finding the Ancient Dagger Of Shadows again? I had a character with one once, but I have never found it again. Of course, I have never gone from top to bottom of the Undermountain in a day solidly, either. And yes, I have fought the dragon on level eight. That... that was horrible. It made me cry. Really. It did. The OTHER dragon I fought on Level 12 was even worse. I cannot even remember how I found that one. (Or was it Level 13? Maybe Level 11? I cannot recall exactly now.) I wonder if Ziroc will be releasing the dragongolem collection on us as well. (found those once. never found out if Ziroc clicked the links for them and Bahamut.)

resurrecting an old posting, yes, but this one struck me as being one I could fairly ask about. one of my characters has a Desert Dustmaker, but I forgot how the heck I came across it. so I am asking you all which levels do I find the Desert Dustmaker and Bumbis' Scaleslice? I figure that the Desert Dustmaker SHOULD be better than Melt, but even then I am not quite confident about that assumption.

Both Desert Dustmaker, and Bumbis are on the same level...no spoilers though.
