After I leave the Gorion map, I go north past the friendly arm inn, do the sea-bitch quest, and the zombie farm, trying to avoid ankhegs on the way (which is easy to do when you know how). Then I do the things around the friendly arm and head south to Beregost. I find once I've done all the quests down there too, I'm usually pretty much set to go where I want in the rest of the game (for the most part)

You can't go to the Zombie farm map before chapter 5. To go there you first have to cross the bridge.

I remembered another thing that happened to me when I was playing for the 1st time. I went to Lighthouse while my party was still on lvl 1-2. I decided to go exploring a bit before I go to Beregost and I regretted it.
You don't have to go over the bridge at all. You can go via Ulgoth's Beard

Are you sure? I was never able to do that. IIRC you can leave UB from only one side of the map. And I couldn't go to Zombie farm from there. I'm not 100% sure, though. I'd check it out now, but my TotSC CD is cracked and I can't play it.

TL- I'm pretty sure you're right about the Kaigan spelling. I remember he definately does pronounce his name that way when he says 'greetings, I am Kaigan, what can I do for you?'.

So it's alllll good.

One big question. Is there anything to do at that farm apart from kill zombies?

I think a Level 1 party can get to the farm with the zombies. I also think it is one of the safest places for a Level 1 party, because the zombies can't kill you, so it's the only map where you can't get killed... I think.
