I talked to Orrick after I did the pool and there is no option that says I purified the pool. Does this mean that I need to go back and do the radiant pool after I talk to Orrick?

After purifying the pool, I think that you might want to talk to the Ilmaterial priest in the tower jail. He might have something to say.

Orrick never says anything special about the pool after you purify it, so don't bother going back to him. The Ilmater priest may have something to say, but it's been awhile so I can't be sure.

The way things are supposed to work at the final encounter:

You beat on one of the twins until he/she is hurt enough that they both bop out to the pool room. You clean up any remaining enemies in the throne room, then exit to be taken to the pool room (that's your cue...sorry!).

Since the pool is tainted, they can't refresh themselves, so fighting them here is a little easier. However, the battle won't go on for too long this time, for other reasons.

Thanks everyone, for the great tips. I did manage to get through Part 1, but then didn't quite make it through the second part. Since I couldn't save, I'll have to try it all over again. Wow, what a tough, tough battle. Whew!!!

Y E S !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I finally did it. That was the hardest battle that I can remember. It took me several tries before I was able to finish. Good game, but extremely challenging.

Lady A,

I just started the HOF mode game and its actually not nearly as bad as I remember the IWD version being. Give it a shot, remember that at the beginning you are only fighting Goblins ... granted they are nastier and uglier and there are more of them ... but they are ONLY goblins. lol

OK, I will definitely give it a try, after I take a little break from it. When I finish the Pools of Radiance mod for NWN, I'll go back and try HOF.
