Oswald is actually in some sort of trance, as the dialogue shows when you wake him up.

I've noticed that when the crash happens, the game makes a reflex save for everyone, and those with evasion usually don't take any damage. But they're still out cold.

As for the kid, well, Oswald DID say she has a very small head

Finally, the manual clearly says that Elves have darkvision, and that includes the Moon Elf. Perhaps this was an oversight (no puns intended!) in the code?

Something else wrong with elves... why on EARTH do drow have PLUS TWO CHARISMA!!!
They are feared all across faerun, you know how they are all racist to Drizzt in the books.

Also, why do they have halfling barbarians? Just doesn't click for me

Oh my ears! Careful, I'm one of those "Minors" that the rules are set up to protect

Elves, and especially drow, are very good looking, and their voice is much like a song. So they get bonus to charisma.

Being evil AND beautiful/charismatic is very common. People might find them to be exotic, but they still fear them at first.

Try starting a game with a drow with 20 charisma, and when you get out of the ship, have him move out of the bridge, the 2 guards there will start the usual dialog with you, but will be telling you something like "Whoa! a Drow! Don't move or we'll kill you!" instead of the regular text.

Even 1st Edition AD&D gave Drow Charisma bonuses (anybody here been into AD&D long enough to remember the Unearthed Arcana book?), and I had no problem with that. They're just really good looking, seductively charming bloodthirsty killers -- as a race in general, that is.

But regarding Barbarian Halflings -- I've always had a problem with Class restriction due to race, so I was delighted to see it go in the 3rd Edition. If a Drow can be a ranger, why not a halfling a barbarian? The combination may be uncommon, but who's to say it's impossible? It IS fantasy.

If you want the fantasy to go even farther, the Ease of Use mod has a component that remove aligment requirement from class. So you could do a Paladin/Druid, or something like that, if you wanted.

Would love to experiment with that just for the fun of it, even if I never had a problem with Class Restrictions Due to Alignment.

It'd be way cooler if the game designers made counterparts for every "must-have-good-alignment" class they made (Fallen Rangers and Fallen Paladins don't count). Pen & paper RPGers have been making up their own "Anti-Paladin" class for decades now.

Gee Jack, you won't put a little Ribaldry in your game because it's outside the rules. But you'd consider taking out the alignment rules entirely to make a character like that? Hmmm.....
