I've noticed that, in every game, without exception, it's the Elves who wake up first after the ship crashes. You'd think that the hearty types, like the Dwarf, would be the first to recover. But nooooo....

It's the frailest ones in the party that are up and about while the rest are out cold. Why? Anyone have any ideas?

Elves have a natural bonus to enchantment magic... The fake fatiuge they put on you is probably considered enchantment. So they make a throw against it and wake up quick... Maybe? Sounds good to me... and it will get me to sleep.

Speaking of sleep, Elves are immune to sleep spells, maybe that's it?

Interesting speculation. However, being conked on the head by falling debris doesn't quite come under the heading of "sleep spell". Knockout punch would be more like it ;)

Then again, one never knows what goes on in the insane mind of the program!

I dont think its an entirely natural unconciousness though.
After all the gnome remains asleep for a suspiciously long time, and the crash was cauzed by weather magic.

Jack of Speed 11-11-2002 02:27 AM

I think the unconciousness may have been caused by mixed potions hitting the floor. A little of Oswalds Happy Juice would knock anyone out. If you doubt the potency of his potions you should LISTEN to the little girl with him. She has like 4 brain cells left. ;)

If she has 4 working brain cells left, then Oswald himself has maybe half of one working cell left

While we're on the topic of elves, I just wanna rant about how moon elves don't have Darkvision anymore -- it just spits in the face of tradition. Elves (of all subraces) in AD&D have always had Darkvision (used to be called infravision in the old days). It seems doubly silly with MOON elves -- what, they can't see at night except during a full moon or something?

Desdicado 11-11-2002 10:57 AM

Yeah, that sux.

Gimli 11-11-2002 12:17 PM

??? It says they get darkvision in the manual?
