The bug you speak of is a very common and well known issue. I believe the bug fix was addressed in a later HoW patch and in the TotLM add on. If re-installing without the patch helped? well, then good luck. But patches do fix bugs,even if they cause new ones. The best piece of advice i'd heard on this "end of the game bug" is to quit IWD, remove the "override" folder from the IWD directory (put it on the desk top) and then run IWD again. When it opens and loads your saved game, try to continue past Rev. Poquelin and the "paused for movie" bug. You can copy the override folder back in later. Another "fix" that has been mentioned, is to not use any magic spells during the battle with Poquelin; but who wants to do that? [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Well it looks like the patch you loaded is faulty(if you have a patch).

i have not installed any patches and it is doing the same thing?what do i need to do?i dont have HoW yet so WHAT DO I DO?

Go to the interplay web site (link to follow) and simply download the v1.06 IWD patch into the directory where you have Idewind Dale installed (probably something like D:/Program Files/Black Isle/Icewind DAle). Then open up WIndows Explorer to that directory and double click on the icon to the left of the patch file name. It will auto install. Make sure that you use the proper language version (if you are running the North American Version, download the North American patch.

What operating system are you running?

What type of installation did you did? Full? Recommended? or Minimal?

Have you tried doing a complete uninstall / reinstall?

i have done a full install and no i havent tryed to uninstall/reinstall yet

I'm searching a couple of other forums to see where this problem has cropped up before and how it was solved. I thought the patch would have solved it.
