true...true...

but what is elminster??

a thousand years old??

he might have spells or tricks that the sword coast has never even witnessed...but even if he doesn't, i'm sure that his knowledge is so vast that he could keep pumpin off an almost endless amount of spells.

oh well...who knows?

'OL Driz has a very nice set of +4 Chain mail... but only if you do'em in.
How my guys did it.

The cleric conjured up lots of skeletons and one of my guys used the "ring of animal charm" to enlist a couple of bears, hasted the group and then sat back and pelted with range weapons.
Buying back rep points at any temple is cheaper than buying armour or weapons.

If you killed Drizzt in BG1 (or even pickpocketed him, I believe), the game knows it.

You WILL meet Drizzt about 2/3 of the way through the plot of BG2. If you were nice in BG1 and helped him kill the gnolls, your conversation will be amiable, although you DO have the option to challenge him to a fight. If you killed him in BG1, he will remember you, and you must either back down and apologize, or fight him. He's not alone this time, and you have no chance to try some cheesy AI trick, or even cast buffing spells beforehand. It's strictly one party against another.

P.S. Even if you win, the gear isn't that great, and you can't even keep it.

thanks!

that's what i wanted to know.

i guess i would have to try and kill him and his lackeys a few times, and if that didn't work out then i would revert to being a coward... and apologize.

I made nice with Drizzt, 'cause I've read the
Icewind Dale books and had a pretty good idea how a fight
would go. But my friend had this weaselly trick -
he saved the game, and pickpocketed both of Drizzt's
swords.

Then the whole party piled onto him, and it turns out
Drizzt isn't so tough under Marquis of Queensbury rules.

Dirty pool, but it might help those of you who just
can't stand to leave a map without killing everything on it
