Just today I killed the Silver Dragon withh a high level assassin. I laid five regular traps and one time trap right infront of this guy and then summoned some friends with scrolls I had collected and then read a haste scroll and a stoneskin scroll. I stood back, poisoned my weapon, and tossed fire tooth at him. He was at badly injured by the time the timestop ended and the other traps took their course. It was fun and made me smile.

I was hoping you'd weigh in, Andraste... I seem to be one step away from being your fan club. And gods know I can't have that when I'm trying to gather my own, hm?

Edit- The silver dragon is quite female. That, or those eggs were the product of some pretty powerful magic.

Illumina - we could always form a mutual appreciation society.

For anyone interested I will attempt to add a link to the post where I gave literally expression to my annoyance.

can any body claim to have done this?
I think Dundee beat the evil dragons with a solo Paladin IIRC.

I did something similar with a high level assassin against the shadow dragon, however I did not use any traps or summons.

Poison weapon > Backstab (just to make sure I hit)
Poisoned poison darts (4 attacks with the wonderous oil of speed)

Now this is where it got a little strange, the dragon eventually got whittled away to relatively low life then cast a heal spell. I'd ran out of poison weapon uses so I had to fight a full health dragon, hand to hand with the short sword of backstabbing.

For some reason (no items to protect against this) the character was not level drained once. Occasionally I drank some healing potions, or when I was blown away I switched to darts to get some ranged attacks in, but the dragon was chopped to bits in the end.

So it is possible

Wow

I don't know what I'm more thrilled about - that I have not one, but two, of my posts in the classic thread section - or that Illumina called me sweetie.

I think I will walk around all day in an AbFab sort of smiley daze.

I've beaten Firkraag in 4 seconds using a solo fighter I used from BG1 to the end of ToB. He was the only character that I have ever beaten ToB with. He was dwarven, and I beat Firkraag by coming back a little later in the game, by using Vhailor's Helm, giving a simulacrum (spelling?) of a high lever fighter. Then we both started hammering on him with Crom Faeyr (no pun intended...well actually, yeah) using Greater Whirlwind. I took a screenshot I was so proud, and spend the next day gloating to my cousin. So yes, not only is it possible, but pretty darn easy (with the right equipment.
-Brainless One

PS: As for class, he was just a plain fighter, I didn't like any of the kits for fighters.
