Opinions wanted - soloing with a goblin companion

Plus, goblins are so pathetic and weak which will make them seem really funny when I level them up and give them uber-equipment.

Oooh, maybe I should take 5 goblins? My character can be a goblin lover! Taking care of them and raising them as his own...

can you level them up without the game dying horribly? i know you can CLUA in Boo and ctrl+q him but if you level him up the game freezes up.

I, personally, would
1) Create a Neutral Evil Half-Orc Priest of Talos named Mulahey.
2) Ctrl-Q the Smoke Mephit in the hallway north of the Equipment Room and Shadowkeep it into a Thief/Mage (hey, it turns Invisible).
3) Ctrl-Q every Goblin you see. (With Improved Ilyich installed, there are only 6 of them.) Ahhhh, disposable party members!
3) Make sure that the Goblin Archer in the hallway to Jon's bedroom (the one with the Arrows of Biting) does not get killed.
4) Disarm all the Wands in the Wand-trap Room except Monster Summoning. Ctrl-Q a Gnoll (Fighter).
5) Head to the Temple District and Ctrl-Q the Kobold Witch Doctor (Mage).
6) Head to the Windspear Hills and Ctrl-Q an Orc Fighter.

i tested the goblin level up thing (i used the CLUA set exp, so he was same level as my PC ) and it went fine, a level 8 goblin fighter who is grand mastery with axe, quite funny.
And i was able to change his portrait on SK, i made it the half orc one as i couldnt find a decent goblin one [img]smile.gif[/img] And i also altered his stats, all 9's was too bad, heh.
So it works fine, so far. But you gotta change his class on shadow keeper as well, don't forget that or else he levels up weird :S

Okay, so the technical side is sorted. Now I've gotta figure out which class to be. I really want to do it with 1 goblin, but I can recruit 2 if absolutely neccesary. I'd have to be a cleric to raise them from the dead... a mage so I can take down an enemy mage's defences for my Gobby to hack away. Cleric/mage, perhaps, as I had before? I'd need to Ctrl+Q a fighter goblin then to protect me - an archer would be at a distance like a cleric/mage... Oh, and I think the archers have thief skills...
