BGT solo

Solo through BG1 can ONLY be done with a lot of potions. Because at some points you'll come along enemies that use some special attack (e.g. Magic Missile - no I AM NOT KIDDING) that is guaranteed to kill your 8hp hero if you don't jug down the right liquid.

guess what, I have a set back. I was running the patched win98 bgtinstaller.exe last night and it hadnt finished, so I left it on all night, only to come back the next morning and fine it still wasnt finished and it totally duffed up my computer, I am going to attempt to fix it tonight with the help of andrewas but we'l see what happens

yeha Faceman, i remember what a struggle it always was trying to kill the asassin at the friendly arm in. Never actually tried to solo through BG1, gotta do that some day.

Ok since I had to format HDD etc. I havent started yet but its on the cards for tomoro, so any other suggestions?

Faceman-did you install any mods on top of bgt that are worth a mention?

Nope, only the lvl50 ruleset, but I'm not sure if I should advise it after my horrid experience with the overpowered monk. However other classes may be more balanced and there is not that much difference between ToB max and lvl50 anyway for some.
I recall reading that BGT wouldn't work well with other mods, but there is a new release of the Big Picture that is supposed to work with BGT. Would be interesting to try all that out.

Yeh, I was on the teambg forum and it is possible to run, BP,BGT and NEJ (thats like all the other mods;tortured souls etc.) but its still another month before broadband finally gets its ass over here and I get my 1mb/s (YAY!!) connection, so I dont really wana go through the painstaking process of downloading 800mbs worth of stuff when I could just wait a month....

Anyways, from your experience I know Il not be going solo monk, although it still sounds fun!
