The thought of a fire giant thief creeping into my house at night and setting my carpet on fire causes fear to my very bones.
Or him picking my pockets (not as if I'd notice). I suppose he could 'hide' in his own shadows. And provided he could minimise the earth tremors, I'd guess that move silently could be an option. Though a fire curry the night before would spoil that ability?
