Component 10: Un-Nerfed THAC0 Table, Saving Throws, ..., No
I'm sure this sounds stupid, but what's it mean when it says Un-Nerfed THAC0 Table and all the other stuff about it? I didn't install it b/c I didn't know what it did.

Component 19: Imoen ToB Dialogue Fix, Yes
I installed this, but what are the fixes that it made?

I'm fairly sure that BG2 nerfted the thac0, etc. from the PnP version. That thing only puts it back to the PnP version.

BG2 did not nerf the THAC0. They did nerf the spell slot progression though. To elaborate more, they just let the THAC0 and Saving Throws progress beyond level 20, but this is not according to the PnP rules IIRC.

More questions.

How does Oversight fix the Alignment problems? By overwriting the files? How will this affect Improved Battles?

Is it true that enemies in Unfinished Business tend to use undroppable FoAs among other undroppable high-level items?

Undroppable FoAs among other undroppable high-level items are in Battles Mod AFAIK.

ALIGNMENT CORRECTION

This component will change the alignments of the 700-some-odd .cre files with alignments that seem at odds with their BG2 behavior. This component changes the .cre files to the alignments I believe make most sense for them; this is inevitably a judgment call. If you're interested in something like this but believe racial alignment and the original alignment codings should be taken into account, then instead of this component you should install the relevant fix from http://www.baldurdash.org .

Be aware that this component will only change those creatures whom your character has not yet seen. If you wish to experience the full effects of the mod (that is, if you simply can't live with having killed a Neutral Good otyugh in the starting dungeon), you will need to begin a new game after installing. However, every miscoded character whose first appearance is after installation of this mod will be corrected, and every miscoded character (including the otyugh) will be corrected in any future games you play.

If you feel the mod is good for the most part but that I've changed a coding in error, or left a coding alone in error, feel free to email me. However, be aware of the following principles this component depends on:

a) Inherent evil makes for lame stories. An email which goes, "But you can't make X good/evil, all members of that species are evil/good" is unlikely to sway me. I'll be far more likely to make changes you suggest if your argument takes the form, "This character should be evil/good/chaotic/lawful/neutral because in the game she does x, y, and z."

b) The original coding of the game characters is a bad joke. "There isn't a compelling enough reason to change the coded alignment of that character" is unlikely to sway me. Any reason at all, down to and including "That looks like a Chaotic hairstyle to me," is more compelling than the game's original coding.

c) I will not tread on another modder's toes. Don't ask me to make WeimerSolaufein or Ascension Balthazar Lawful Neutral, or to change anything else from a mod. Make your case instead to Westley Weimer (for Solaufein), David Gaider (for Ascension), or the designer of the mod in question (other mods).

d) Good=/=Nice. Just because a character is rude does not mean that character is evil. It doesn't even imply that that character is not good.
Monk HLA`s are a bit overpowered IMO.

No, it's a bytewise patch, so other mods could subsequently patch those CREs. Not sure what Improved Battles does, though.

Wha...?

Unfinished Business is not a battle-improving mod in the least. There is nothing über about it whatsoever. It simply restores things that were cut prior to the game's release.

I seem to be having issues ever since installing rogue rebalancing. I reinstalled my mods, installing them in the order they were listed in icelus's post, although I still can't seem to get it right. I know they're not all working right because Torgal's clas is named after a dialogue, so I need to re-install them all again. But I just can't figure out if this is the right order:

1. ToB Patch.
2. ToB Fixpack
3. Soaufein
4. Ascension (weidu)
5. Tactics
6. Unfinished Business
7. Redemption
8. Rogue Rebalancing
9. Ease of Us
10. Item Upgrade

That's the order I installed them in. So what's the correct order to install them in???

According to Forum FAQ:
Quote:
1) Install the game first
2) Install the Official Patch next
3) Install the Fixpack
4) Install third-party mods if any
Good luck!
