No, it doesn't. Demin's survival is in no way essential--even if she dies, she drops a note detailing the important parts of what she would have said. And veteran players know what to do anyway. Heck, on one of my games, I ignored her house completely, and then went on to the next big battle before I went, "OH! I forgot to get the (spoiler)!!"
