Sythe, I could be wrong, but I think that according to AD&D rules a thief can only backstab with up to a short sword. However, in BG1/2 you can backstab/whack with anything your standard thief is allowed to equip. This does not include the special allowance of equipment mad for any fighter thief combo. So youre telling me that all this time when I could of been back stabbing with a good weapon Ive been doing it with cruddy little daggers all because, I didnt think it was possible or sensical to be able to do with it a long sword? ....I feel like a noob... Hmm this might actually get me to make a thief again (what was the point i had to do mad micro to gethim in position to do one hit that would equal my fighters regular hit)Well thanks for the enlightenment.

Darrow is cured he can actually backstab very good now with an average of 45 damage! Thanks guys!

The game doesn't make much sense with backstabbing; it's possible with staves and clubs. How do you stab someone with a blunt stick?

Staves maybe...but Clubs? C`mon...
Oh i would understand if you were hidden and smack somebody on the head real hard,but if it would be so then you could backstabb practicllyx with any weapon...
Oh well..
Imagine backstabbing with Crom Fayer... ouch
