OR, maybe only make two copies of every *non-magical* armour in the game... enchanted armours should be able to fit almost anyone.
Or, maybe, have one or two suits of armour that have that as their specific enchantment... I might have to try this once I get the hang of WeiDU, and finish my NPC-Tweak mod...

Or three copies if you count FGs in ToB.

Some DM's I have played with have made size distinctions for their equipment, and I believe the 2nd Edition rules do include a few provisions about this. I imagine the designers thought it would be too much trouble to implement, especially since it would only piss the players off. With all the junk floating around Amn, I don't see why a few "petite" items would be much of a hassle. And easy to implement with IEEP or related hacks.

A halfling with a halberd is no funnier than a pixie with a 2-handed sword (Wizards and Warriors, Wizardry 8). Or maybe I should say "no less funny."

Come to think of it, btw, I can't (off the top of my head) think of a single CRPG game which tries to implement any restrictions based on the size of the character. (Oh, wait -- Wiz 8 does have restrictions on Pixie armor) Maybe the designers were afraid of being accused of sizeism or something.
