Whether it be in jest or an attitude problem, Ironworks will NOT tolerate such flaming, Firestorm.

If you truly feel sorry about this, I strongly advise you to apologise personally to both Pirengle the BNM and Xero279, either in this thread or in a new thread.

I'm glad that this didn't escalete in a flame war because it was almost..... going on.

Firestormalpha, I don't see you to much here.... your not new (Í'm even newer ) but people did try to help you.... with the response you gave.. it isn't likely that people will response to any of your threads/posts.

Don't think that anybody is higher in hierachie just because he has an better use of english vocabulary... I (as you can probably see) don't have a great english vocabulary, but I'm still a member that will always try to help his fellow IW member.... with or without the propper vocabulary...

Calm down and threat everybody with respect here... especially if they try to help you! Don't make them look stupid.

Shadowchild, flaming isn't considerd entertainment here.... watch out what you say... because just like what happend to Firestormalpha, it can and will probably be miss-read; ending in posts/threads like this

Please don't let this happen again guys, because it really ruines the atmosphere here...

Light Bulb

Doesn't really matter what vocabulary you use - the point is we are all getting a shed load of fun out of a game we are all playing.

As for flaming not being entertaining? yes this i know, general not-niceness between chaps (or ladies for that matter) on the forum is a bit of a downer - all i really meant is that even tho we don't respond to posts, we still read them, and some are quite interesting to peruse (look vocabulary! hurrah!).

My post wasn't meant to enflame the situation Annatar, it was just me being a bit over zealous and being happy to find something to take away the extreme boredom that can be Database Admin.

Anyway! i have a game to play!

Pirengle the BNM, and Xero279 you have my sincerest appologies for my unrestrained disposition yesterday. I can only hope that you will accept this appology and perhaps forgive any strain I may have caused.

Again my appologies in general for anyone else whom I may have offended in this thread.

P.S. I assure you it is not a self-esteem issue. I merely let my attitude get uncharacteristically out of check. It should not happen again. (unless I'm drunk {and I don't drink}, or demon possessed {=ly unlikely})

Its cool fire. The only reason i posted telling you to calm down in the first place is 1. because i felt it had a negative tone and 2. As Dundee said, that kinda stuff (arguing, being mean to other members) isnt looked nicely upon here, and it can result in being banned from the forum (as i have seen before) or some other punishment. just trying to watch out for people.

Just out of sheer curiosity... did you try all three possible answers to the Djinni?

IIRC, if you answer "I'll press the button" he summons a monster.
If you answer "I won't press the button" he summons several little monsters (mutated glibberings in my case).
And did you try giving him the 'I won't answer' response? He just vanishes and doesn't summon the monsters... of course, this won't solve your problem, but you might be able to get past this point in the game.

Lastly, I've heard of ppl with very good computers and video cards having to turn down the "hardware acceleration" on their PCs for the game to run OK. I'm afraid I'm not a comp-savvy person -not to mention that my PC is located in the low end of the sub-suboptimal scale- so I don't know if this is a setting in your OS or in the video card... or both.

Good luck...

Thats a setting in the game itself, and it because the 3d card usage of BG2 is crap. It usualy run slower than soptware rendering, which is very unusualy. However, Ive never seen it cause anything like this and certainly not on such a high spec machine, which can probably run with hardware acceleration on and not take a significant performance hit.
