That's actually +3 STR for Fighters taking the evil path in Hell. I doubt you'll be able to use the symbol though. It would surprise me if it wasn't a priest-only item, and you wont have UAI as either a fighter or fighter/mage.
Hmm. I've actually duelled my character to a mage. Will he get +2 str for the evil path, or +3 str? Answers on a postcard to the usual address pls

Sorry I am going to be sage. Sometimes the individual parts are worth more than the whole.

Translation: The Crom only works for one where as you can have one NPC with the hammer, one with the gauntlets of Ogre strength, and then your PC with the belt.

Assuming you dualled him from a warrior and not a thief, he will indeed get +3 STR. Were you dualling from a thief, you would get +1 DEX and +2 STR. Dual/multiclassed characters will get a +1 boost to their first class, so a fighter/thief would get +1 STR, or a cleric/mage would get +1 WIS. Useful to know when dealing with situations such as this and also when using the Deck of Many Things .

Ah, but what about in funky cases such as Multiclassed Gnomes? Where everyone else would be a Thief/Mage (meaning, his 1st primary stat is DEX), Jan is an Illusionist/Thief (1st primary stat is INT). Why do they muck around with names like that?

In general, I'd recommend *not* assembling Crom. Without Crom, you can have the Girdle of Frost Giant Str, the Gauntlets of Ogre Power, & the Girdle of Hill Giant Strength (not to mention, late game adding one of Stone Giant Str & in ToB it gets even better, meaning you'll have 5 enhanched characters if you're patient).

What it boils down to during most of SoA though is that you can have 3 characters with subpar, even inconsequential Strength scores dishing out minimum +3/+6, wielding any weapon they choose, rather than 1 character with 25 (with the mild limitation of always having to wield a particular weapon which, other than the 25 Str [yes, that's a lot to ignore], isn't all *that* great) & 1 with 19.

I say go for it. Make the stupid hammer. You'll get the Hill Giant Belt, Crom Faeyr itself, the Stone Giant Belt, and the Fire Giant belt. Oh, and Mauler's Arm, if you're really worried about the Gauntlet's of Ogre Strength. Not to mention that there are quite a few Clerical spells taht can aid you if you really need to boost up the Strength.
