I've actually also attacked and killed Aran Linvail (no I did not side with Bodhi) without anyone reacting, certainly didn't summon Arkanis.

Plagiarism spreading throughout the Forums! RUN!!!

Seriously, it's quite hard to write something that Mister Slaytern havn't wrote before you!
The guy copyrighted every damn possible combination of words on these forums!
Of course, that only means more kudos to him.

But a follow-up question :

When I attacked Aran linvail, only feebleminded him, a few shadow thieves turned hostile ... killed them .. no-one appeared, no-one else cared ...

You sure you have to feeblemind them all, for the desired effect ?
( no trouble afterwards with aran linvail or arkanis )
You probably only need to Feeblemind those who can see the one turning hostile. Since Aran's room is so far away, you need only to feeblemind his guards. The rest of the floor won't even know what's going on!

Spoil time

in bhodi's game area are some minatours, adjacent is a small room with water and hidden paintings that are trapped. get these paintings then go back to an area with corosponding paintings on the wall, one on the right (troll?) opens up to an area with golems get rid of them all and you will discover a room with an amazing machine... spending 15 tokens is recomended. However the boots of cold (ugh boots +5) look good on Anomen!

This is in no way related to the original question, but talking about Arkanis, has anyone else noticed that theres also a dwarf that goes by the same name in BG1?

(f.e. a certain minotaur when confronting Gromnir in saradush )

Anywayz .. where is he located ?
I'm curious

Aye, I've noticed this as well!

Daan, he can be found two places at two different times:
-In the prologue, under your training in fighting with NPCs
-In Chapter 4 or so, he can be foun din the Candlekeep Dungeon after you've been accused for killing Sarevoks fosterfather
