Rest assured, there are Morale Failures in BG2. What can I say? I like to poke my enemies... ...

Well, I prefer to use "Symbol Fear" to invoke morale failures rather than waiting, or even better "Symbol Stun". It has the exact same specifications except you get a still target rather than one that runs about.....

Alright, I know it would "unbalance" the game....but I do have a pet peeve about the shopkeeps.
If I go into a store selling all kinds of goodies and just decide to kill the shopkeeper....doesn't it make sense that I would then be able to plunder his shop at my leisure (assuming there were no witnesses). In BGII, when I killed off the rival Thieves Guild...I would have LOVED an opportunity to crack open the safe behind the front counter....there were lots of gems and other items that could have been sold for more gold....but I defeat the entire guild only to find their inventory has mysteriously disappeared. Maybe the shopkeepers *have* no inventory, and just operate some kind of instantaneous mail-order system?
"I'll have a Warblade +4, a Stonefire +3, lrge fries and a coke please" "Please drive to the next window sir, and your assorted wargear and refreshments will be waiting for you"

actually i think those muggers are one of the funniest things in the game. hey see those guys carrying the shining weapons and perfect armor, who look alot like the heros of trademeet and those guys who slaughtered the slavery ring, rather than some rich nobleman let's attack them. Amn must have Fae run's dumbest criminals

I don't think the "Morale Failure" thing was implemented properly in BG2. It definitely works in both BG1 and IWD...after you kill a certain number of a crowd of monsters, the others start getting the "yellow circle" syndrome.
![]() Of course, I've never really seen a "crowd of monsters", per se, in BG2... the largest group I ever had to face at any one time was about 6 or 7. A far cry from the 10-20's you'd get in IWD/HoW. -Sazerac

I have had monsters turn yellow when they get hurt, but mostly early in the game. Hobgoblins under Copper Coronet. I have also had members of my party fail morale check, though not frequently.

The one who have most frequently chickened out for me is Anomen.
BTW, if you have a cleric or a paladin there is really no good excuse for not prepping your party with Remove Fear.
