Muggers will try to attack a paladin in full platemail wielding Carsomyr? What in the heck must they be thinking? "Hey, that looks like a prime target, I hope that he doesn't know how to use that big freaking sword though"

i do find it weird! i love getting mugged though, the battles are usually easy, and a lot of the time they have some cool junk on them. plus u can't complain about experience points!

Yeah, although SoA is the best game I have ever played on CPU, it's always these small things that I miss, for example:
- The paladin thing. - Imagine you cast a fireball or some other freakin' powerful spell right into a bunch of goblins and they see half of their companions dying and frying, don't you expect them to run away or something? - Thieving. The shopkeeper should be aware of someone who's just "looking", standing right next to that unsecured diamond upon the table in that dark corner where nobody would expect it to be stolen... - Negotiations with potential enemies. !!!No way!!! I'll think of some more... |
I think it's only annoying. You're traveling from A to B, and then the journey gets interrupted by a bunch of soon to be dead muggers, who carry nothing else then a bunch of useless scrolls.

That's why they made the improved-encounters Mod A lot better

Thieving: my point is, that the most expensive items just lie around and you don't even get an eye of the storekeep. They just gotta be clever enough to lock 'em up somehow. And come on, even if your thieving skills are great, sooner or later even a dumb nut would realize that the mighty sorcerer's staff +666 is gone. |

It's a whole new game, now... No pun intended. :D [ 12-16-2002, 04:13 PM: Message edited by: Alson ] |
Well, you are wrong.
In BG1, when fighting large groups of kobolds, tasloi, xvarts, after you kill half of them, the others got morale failure and turn yellow. Same thing happens in BG2 as well. |
