ahh cloakwood forest how fun and horrible it was but what I hate is the dreadfull firewine bridge filled with hundreds of kobolds non stop respawns. With small corridors which could hardly fit two people. Down there was a living kobold HeLLo

I would suggest getting it only if it comes bundled with ToSC. The expansion adds a few new areas, 3 new quests, and a cool dungeon crawl (think Wacther's Keep for BG1). It also raises the xp from 89,000 to 161,000.
It's quite a bit of change getting used to being a lowly level 1 character again. I played BG2 before I bought BG1/ToSC, and enemies you would swat aside in BG2 would cause you to pause and think carefully what you should do in BG1, lol. But it's nice creating a character in BG1 and bringing him/her all the way thru' BG2/ToB.

Actually, DSotSC is an unofficial mod released by TeamBG, similar to TDD for BG2.
![]() I love BG1. I'm a roleplayer rather than a powergamer, and I find that developing your character through the beginning trials and tribulations gives you a profound sense of satisfaction, as well as making incredibly powerful characters. I bought a friend the BG1-TotSC combo pack for his birthday, and he loves it too. In fact, he may even read this post. So

Yes, it does come with TotSC. That's why I thought it was a good deal.

Yes, I'd played SOA/TOB twice and loved them , and have recently started playing BG1/ToSC. Its great , as others have mentioned ,once you get used to starting at lv1 .
I started as a Mage - 1 level spell - it was tough at first , but I've got a party of 5 and they're all lv6 now. Yes, theres a lot of walking around but theres loads of quests and stuff to do. |

In a word: yes, buy it. It's one of my all-time favorite games. Taking a character from scratch to super-power is one of the most satisfying things about this series... ok, maybe that was more than one word.
