Becase of turn-based combat system? Or because of all the fun in BG2 left out of this game? Really, I think the BEST AD&D games were made in either interplay or Bioware.

My ultimate character though would be a druid/magic user. Anyone know the reasoning on why you can't do that? You can be a priest/magic-user, why not a druid?

I'd suggest you try the Ranger/Cleric multi-class if you'd like access to ALL the priest spells. Not only that, but you can specialize in weapons and wear heavy armor.
