Favourite Spells?

I have always been partial to Melf's minute meteors. I love the "burn" graphic that accompanies each hit! With 2 or 3 party members hurling MMMs you can make quick work of many powerful foes! My .02 anyway

Try the tactics mod -> smarter mages component. They now ALL cast MMM and hurl it at you with NO respect. You quickly appreciate its value !!

Holy Smite - lotsa damage, no one in the party gets hurt.

Instead of putting 3 MM in a sequencer, put 3 flame arrows, A LOT more damage.

I love summoning spells too!

I know it's high level; but, Time Stop + 3 horrid witherings = fight OVER!

Lower Resistance is THE boss extermanator.

Ruby Ray of Reversal is the first spell you get that can take dowm the party killing Spell Trap.

Flame Strike. Good dmg and looks cool
Sunray. Nice dmg
Firestorm. Love the name.
Time Stop. I wished I could cast that spell myself sometimes.
Protection from Evil...looks cool

and Gate. I like that pet popping out of nowhere when clicking on a gate scroll. I just make sure I run to the other side of the map first so he can do his business alone [img]smile.gif[/img]

Couple of things:

• Holy smite damges EVIL characters. So if you have Edwin/Korgan/Viconia in your party, make sure you don't accidently smite them.
• Flame arrow or magic missile? Depends what you are fighting. Different enemies are more or less resistant to different types of damage. You wouldn't go cast flame arrows at Firkragg now would you? Just for comparison, a level 15 mage (or sorc) casting three flame arrow spells from a spell sequencer will do 9-54(1d6*9) piercing damage(total) and 4-24 fire damage for each of the 9 arrows with a save for half damage. Thats a range anywhere between 18-216 fire damage. total damage for 3 flame arrow spells: 27-270. 3 Magic missiles will get you 30-90(15d4+15) magic damage. So the flame arrows do a lot more damage yes, but as i said, it depends on what you are fighting.

Magic missiles!!! They are always the favorite spell with all of my mages.

Flame arrow without a doubt... it`s quick... it`s lethal.. and it is a good spell throughout the ENTIRE game =)
