Hmm - the GIMP is definitely nice, but it unfortunately does not have a macro recording-type of function. It does have scripting though, so maybe if I have some time I will have to relearn Scheme-type programming

I don't know how close it is, but I know that the GIMP scripts are a form of Python, and so is PSP. How does that help you? I understand how the scripts work in PSP.

Alas, I have zilch experience using Python, so I am not sure of that route... (Not sure if the GIMP for Windows uses Python, but I guess it does...)

The nice thing about the GIMP, is that the GIMP for all platforms uses the same version of Python. Now, I haven't looked but considering all of the other applications that I use that have Python scripting and 3rd party add-ons that allows users to "record" scripts while using the application and then edit the actual script if needed, I would not be surprised if there were at least one option for the GIMP that did this. Plus, last time I checked, which was about nine or ten months ago, there were something like 100 tutorials for scripting with the GIMP. Let the the search function in the GIMP forums be your ally, young padawan.
