Tip for slaying Illithid:
Give minsc Lilacor and ring of free action and he will be a tank extraoridnarie. (he'll die unprovoked sometimes though, I don't know why)

That's INT drain (not too much to drain from Minsk tho ). Mind Flayers suck out attacker's brain with their tentacles, thus killing their victim. Veery annoying! So loathful!

Boost yourself with potions that increase INT, send in summons to distract attacks first, or lure Flayers out one by one. Or make INt-drained NPCs run away from the battle, thus giving time to restore their brain - INT drain does not last long (how would a sucked out brain be restored? only Minsk's brain IMHO, 'cuz its so small )

For mind Flayers I prefer to use area magic. One or two of the various clouds in the game in a closed room should do the trick

That's a bug as cloudkill etc shouldn't effect them. I believe it was fixed with the baldurdash fix pack. Tyrion Minsc isn't a good mindflayer killer. Your tactic would work much better with keldorn who has a much higher intellience. Two hits from a mindflayer and Minsc is dead due to his rubbish intellience.

"Lilarcor" is found in sewers below the Copper Coronet. It is a bit tricky to find him, though .

What? Lilarcor's cool! I laugh so hard at some of the stuff it says.
Hm, I guess we kinda think alike...

Heh, I wonder if someday I'll become a sentient sword too. ))

Try to fight some trees to find out if you're able to ever become a sword And, why do you call the Lilarcor a "sentient" sword?? To my mind he is too insane to deserve a "sentient" name. Not that I did not like its chants all the way through the game
