Jorath, don't worry, this isn't just because of one deleted thread!
Some places do put a time limit on editing or deleting a thread/post. I don't see it as too much of a problem, myself. Most of the time I fix my typos in the first ten minutes after I send them! And Mods are able to delete at any time so it wouldn't be an issue.

I agree that it is a "gift" if you like, but we should still be able to delete things if we want to.

Yes I think that if you start a Link and you feel that it has gone to far or gotten out of hand you should be able to delete it. I have noticed that when anybody starts a thread on any subject that sometimes on or about page three the main subject has been completely lost or spamed into who knows what. I have started a couple and gone back to them and they have turned into somebody elses private Joke forum or how do you do jack what's going to happen next week and I've deleted them because they no longer have anything to do with what I started in the link.
In the case above where everyone has gone off subject to the main thread I feel that is disrespectful so I'll Delete it, But I totaly agree that if everything in the posts are on subject no matter if I agree with them or not I should have no right to delete the Link and it would be in very pore taste and childish to delete it.
